Quiz Night Time Again! - To help raise further funds for the Stoke Charity & Hunton playing field apparatus.

We are holding our Quiz Night again. I am looking for people to host tables. This would involve bringing a team of eight people and catering for your party. It is a really fun evening. Last year we raised £1,700.00 at this event alone. 
    

Thanks to the tremendous support of our village. This year we are looking to raise the same again. The Parish Council match whatever we raise which means £1,700.00 becomes £3,400.00 towards play equipment. So far I have 10 table hosts and I need a further 4 to fill the hall. 

If you think you might be able to help out and support this cause we would be very grateful. Please call me a.s.a.p. to discuss what it involves and I am more than happy to help out with any aspect to make it work for you.

To date we have raised nearly £12,500.00 and the first installation of play equipment will be installed in March !!

Year round photography workshops and holidays on the utterly stunning Mediterranean Greek island of Kefalonia (Cephalonia, Kefilinia - take your pick) from Ginkgo Studios...

It has been a long time in the making (3 years to be precise), but at last, we are really proud to announce that today, we are launching Ginkgo Studios Photography Workshops for 2010 out of our 6 modern and amazingly located villas in Trapezaki, Kefalonia - located with the small group of Greek islands in the Ionian sea just off the West coast of the Greek mainland.

Whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced enthusiast photographer our on hand professionals will be available to help you to take your photography skills to a whole new level. And what's more, have an amazing time too!

We operate our photography workshops and holidays throughout the year, averaging 2 to 3 slots available per month. So whenever you fancy joining us we are likely to have a series of dates that best suit you.

Not only can you attend one of our week long workshops, but you can bring your partners or families along if we have the availability and then stay on for an extra week or two in one of our three 3 bedroom villas and two 2 bedroom villas.

And, as the weather is pretty nice the whole year round you can catch some winter, spring and autumn sun too. 

During the second week of January here in the UK, the average temperature barely crept above zero and often significantly below. In Kefalonia during this same week, the temperature climbed up to 19'C with clear bright skies. And January is the coldest month of the year there too!

Village pet show with perfect weather just before the heat wave arrives...

Today, local residents and visitors form the surrounding areas descended into the garden of one of our community, for the first annual pet show in almost 20 years. And we really couldn't have asked for better weather. Very warm, overcast and possible showers skirting the village.

Apparently, once a regular feature, the event slipped in to history only to be resurrected in 2009 in aid of fund-raising efforts for the village playground and the wish list of new equipment for it.

Village picnic down by the pond - On such a beautiful day too...

For those who will be popping down to the Guy's pond for a village picnic this evening, don't forget to take your cameras. Given we have been really rather blessed with the weather for the last two weekends and this evening is going to be more Mediterranean than British, what with the temperatures being so high. We are sure to have an array of beautiful views of nature and the cheer of our local community. 

I for one will be snapping away and publishing them here too of course. With the exception of any potentially embarrassing shots - Not that there will be any of course...

Should you take along your camera and you get a nice collection of images (or even just the one or two) that reflect the evening, feel free to email them over and we can add them to the gallery for you.

I suspect that there will not be a repeat of the fireworks that sent us all off to our beds in style last night. Absolutely stunning little display - A big thanks to whoever was getting married for the shared entertainment.
